The official FIFA World Cup 2026™ New York New Jersey Host Committee website, designed and developed by DD.NYC®, has been nominated for a 2026 Webby Awards. As the Digital Agency of Record for the NYNJ Host Committee, DD.NYC® created a platform designed to capture the scale, energy, and global significance of the tournament while representing the spirit of the New York metropolitan region. The nomination marks another major recognition in a standout year for our Manhattan-based creative agency.
Designing a Platform for a Global Audience
From day one, the challenge was clear: create a website capable of representing the energy, diversity, and scale of the New York New Jersey market while also functioning as a world-class digital experience for millions of fans across the globe.
The platform needed to evolve constantly. Tournament announcements, host city moments, regional activations, partnerships, tourism initiatives, and cultural storytelling all had to live within a single cohesive system that could grow over time without losing clarity or performance.
Our approach centered around building something that felt distinctly “New York,” while still honoring the global significance of the tournament itself.
Every decision, from the motion systems and typography to the mobile UX and content architecture, was designed to create momentum and anticipation leading into 2026.
More Than Just a Website
One of the things we’re most proud of is that the project never felt transactional.
Our team became deeply embedded in the vision of bringing the World Cup to the NYNJ region in a meaningful way. Throughout the process, we collaborated closely with stakeholders across branding, communications, partnerships, tourism, and event strategy to ensure the digital presence could support the tournament at every phase of growth.
The website became a living platform rather than a static launch.
As the tournament continues to approach, the platform continues evolving alongside it.
Designing for One of the Largest Sporting Events in the World
Unlike traditional event microsites, the NYNJ platform required long-term scalability and phased rollout planning tied to tournament milestones, regional initiatives, and sponsor activations.
The DD.NYC® team worked closely with stakeholders to create a digital foundation capable of evolving throughout the multi-year lead-up to the tournament while maintaining clarity, speed, and visual consistency.
The nomination from the Webbys highlights not only the creative execution, but also the strategic importance of the platform as FIFA World Cup 2026™ approaches.
